Susan Jones – M.A., LMFT-S, CRC

We will help you find, or perhaps rediscover the skills needed to solve problems, manage stress, and strengthen relationships.

We all face opportunities and challenges on a daily basis. Dealing with careers, relationships, and life situations demands knowledge, skills, time and attention. Often we lack the resources and tools to cope, as we respond to life physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually. Anxiety, stress, depression, broken relationships and other symptoms appear as we try to deal with problems on so many levels.

Do you sometimes say…

  • I’m finding it difficult to work with my boss, but I’m worried that if I say anything, he’ll fire me.
  • My marriage is not what I want it to be. The pressures of everyday life seem to have destroyed the spark…
  • I just can’t seem to put one foot in front of the other – I’m stressed all the time, and there is no joy in my life.
  • My wife says that I have no time for her. It’s difficult to meet the expectations of both my family and my work.
  • I’m taking care of my elderly parents, at the same time I’m raising my teenagers. It’s a struggle. I need help to understand their needs – and mine.
  • I’m not really displeased with my life. It just seems like there should be more fulfillment for me and my family.
  • My career is no longer satisfying for me. I need to find a purpose for my life.

With my help, your life can be different!

My Philosophy

We are all meaning makers. We’re physical, mental, relational and spiritual beings. All of these operate together and holistically.  In order to survive and thrive we try to make sense out of our experiences. We not only receive, but also perceive.

We then try to organize such information into something meaningful. We may or may not be aware that these thought processes shape our subsequent interpretation of decisions, feelings, and behaviors and actions. Though people vary in their personalities, coping and resiliency, all are in need of acceptance, belonging, identity, meaning and purpose.

Counseling helps to identify strengths, problems and needs. Counseling is about learning to attend to your life in healthier and more effective ways. Though change is not always easy, you and your counselor will work collaboratively to build toward goals and results that improve coping, healing, restore hope, well-being, and growth.

We respect the dignity, worth and uniqueness of each person and strive to connect through each person’s life experiences and story.
